The standard we build to and how to report a barrier

Working draft, prepared for attorney review before launch.

Brass Acre is built for people who work in gloves, in the dark, at two in the morning. Making the products usable by everyone is part of the job, not an extra.

The standard we build to

We design and test the public site and the products against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In practice that means:

  • Every control works from a keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratios, including on the dark rail and the app bar.
  • Images, icons and form fields carry names a screen reader can speak.
  • Nothing depends on color alone. Status is always written out as well.
  • The Field door is a large tap layout for gloved hands and bright sun.
  • Any tour or training video we publish carries captions.

Government buyers

We know public agencies carry Section 508 and state equivalent obligations. When your purchasing process needs a written accessibility conformance report, ask and we will complete one.

Known limits during preview

Parts of the product line are still in preview and have not finished a full assistive technology pass. We test with screen readers and keyboard only use as each product moves toward release, and we publish fixes on a rolling basis.

Report a barrier

If any part of this site or a Brass Acre product is hard for you to use, tell us: support@brassacre.com or (866) 342 7277. We answer within five (5) business days, and we will provide any public document on this site in an alternate format on request.
